HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) – Training for the season!

As we are gearing up towards winter, it would be the right time to hit HIIT and get involved in fat-loss programs. Those who are into sports would already be into competition season and working out to get to their peak. But for others, this would be right time to improve upon your body composition. High Intensity Interval Training has shown to improve both metabolism and body composition; and is one of the best ways to develop your fitness in as little as 20 minutes. What are the benefits of doing HIIT?

It can be done by you regardless of your current fitness level. It would only require you to choose the right exercise, modifying the movement and add/remove resistance accordingly which would help in setting up the required intensity. The main objective is to push yourself to the best possible while doing an exercise and then rest for an interval of time until you are ready to engage in another all-out bout of exercise. It can be performed indoors or outdoors, with equipment or without equipment. As required by all other fitness training programs, it is always advised to get your physician’s approval; do proper warm-up and cool down to prevent any injury. However, you are the best trainer of your body and listen to the body responses. A professional can always guide you, give cuing, and push you to the limits, but it is always YOU who can KNOW YOURSELF BEST. If your feel uncomfortable while performing any movement or painful, stop it immediately.
